7/13/2023 0 Comments How to: Healthy Mental Healthby Marti Tourville, AMFT
Acceptance: Embracing our mental health starts with accepting ourselves as imperfect beings. It means understanding that we all have vulnerabilities, fears, and struggles. By acknowledging our emotions and experiences without judgment, we create space for growth and healing. Courageous Vulnerability: True strength lies in vulnerability. When we acknowledge and express our emotions authentically, we open doors to genuine connections with others. By sharing our struggles, we create a safe space for others to do the same, fostering empathy and understanding. Building Resilience: Prioritizing mental health allows us to develop resilience—the ability to bounce back from setbacks and navigate challenges. Mental health practices, such as therapy, mindfulness, and self-reflection, provide the tools needed to weather life's storms with grace and perseverance. Self-Compassion: Often, we are our own harshest critics. Embracing our mental health means cultivating self-compassion. It involves treating ourselves with kindness, understanding, and forgiveness, just as we would with a dear friend. By nurturing self-compassion, we create a solid foundation for well-being. Authenticity and Creativity: Our mental health directly impacts our ability to express ourselves authentically and tap into our creativity. When we prioritize mental well-being, we unlock our innate potential, allowing our unique voice to shine through and inspiring others to do the same. Boundary Setting: Prioritizing mental health empowers us to set healthy boundaries in our personal and professional lives. It means recognizing our limits and respecting our own needs, advocating for ourselves, and creating environments that support our well-being. Boundaries cultivate balance and protect our mental health. Mindfulness and Gratitude: Mindfulness and gratitude practices anchor us in the present moment, fostering a sense of peace and contentment. By cultivating awareness and appreciating the small joys in life, we nurture our mental health and invite more positivity into our daily experiences. Remember, embracing our mental health is not a one-time event but an ongoing journey of self-discovery and growth. It requires courage, vulnerability, and a commitment to prioritizing ourselves. Seek support when needed, whether through therapy, community, or trusted loved ones. Together, we can create a world that values mental health as an integral part of our overall well-being. Let us embark on this transformative journey together, cultivating self-compassion, embracing vulnerability, and honoring our mental health. As we do so, we step into our authentic selves and create a ripple effect that inspires others to do the same.

MISSION: To provide a tranquil and healing space in which people in our community can find calmness internally through the relaxing atmosphere along with respectful and engaging therapy conversations. To contribute to happier and more secure families by helping individuals, couples, and teens heal within and thereby creating different ways of engaging with themselves, the world, and those they love.
VISION: Creating a new kind of therapy experience in the Chico area in which therapists have smaller caseloads, giving them the flexibility to spend more time with clients as needed - longer sessions, phone calls, client centered advocacy. Creating a space in our community where clients can go between sessions just to sit, linger, and re-center themselves when they're having difficult days. A place to belong while they heal their hearts and relationships. A therapy office that embodies the unconditional love of Christ no matter what a person's gender identity, romantic disposition, or previous life hardships, experiences, or actions might have been. To be a safe place.
