Christian-Friendly Therapy in Chico, Redding & Across California

Meet Our Team
Appointment Info
If you or your loved one would benefit from support in Tagalog/Filipino, explore our Filipino language therapy page.
Warm counseling office providing faith-respectful, Christian-friendly therapy in a safe and welcoming environment.
A peaceful place to talk through life, pain, and healing - without judgment and without pressure.
You are welcome here.
If you are a follower of Jesus who has ever hesitated about therapy because you believed healing came only from prayer or feared therapy might replace your faith, you are not alone. Many Christians wonder whether seeking help from a therapist means setting aside God’s role in healing. The truth is this:
The Bible calls us to seek wise counsel — and the Lord promises to send comforters.
At Inspired Life Counseling, we walk alongside you as both a clinically trained therapist and someone who deeply loves the God of the Holy Bible. We believe that emotional and relational healing can be supported without diminishing your faith.

What Does It Mean to Be Christian-Friendly?

There is a big difference between:
  • Discussing faith as a core therapeutic framework, and
  • Being respectful and supportive of your faith while doing clinical work that helps you grow.
Here’s what Christian-friendly therapy looks like here:
Hands upward symbolizing faith-aware emotional support.
Your faith matters here - and your emotional health does too.
✔ Your beliefs are respected.
You won’t have to explain or defend your faith.

✔ Your salvation and spiritual identity are honored.
We don’t treat Christian convictions as obstacles — we honor them.

✔ Your therapist is faith-aware but not proselytizing.
This is therapy, not a sermon.

✔ We focus on your mental and emotional needs.
God can be central to your personal life — we just don’t use the therapy session as a pulpit.
Even though many of us are Christians, Bible questions are best brought to your pastor or spiritual mentor.
Hopeful sunrise symbolizing healing, renewal, and emotional restoration for Christian clients seeking faith-respectful therapy.
Healing and faith can walk together.

Why Christians Sometimes Hesitate About Therapy

Many Christian clients feel one or more of the following:
  • “Will therapy contradict my faith?”
  • “Is God enough, or am I being unfaithful to seek help?”
  • “Will a therapist judge me for my decisions?”
  • “Will they treat my beliefs like a problem to be fixed?”

We hear and understand all of that. And you should know:

Seeking therapy does not undermine your faith.
It’s a way to walk with God and receive structured support for challenges like:
  • Anxiety and depression
  • Grief, loss, or life transitions
  • Relationship conflict
  • Trauma and memory pain
  • Boundaries and discernment
  • Feeling stuck or overwhelmed

The Bible itself encourages wise counsel — not as a substitute for God’s involvement, but as a part of how healing unfolds.

Isn’t the Bible Enough?

God uses many means to bring healing:
  • prayer and scripture
  • community and fellowship
  • pastoral care
  • personal reflection
    …and yes, professional counseling

Therapy here isn’t about replacing God’s work — it’s about helping you move forward in your life with clarity, peace, and strength.
Open Bible with warm light symbolizing hope, renewal, and faith-sensitive pathways to emotional and mental wellness.
Your faith matters here — and so does your emotional well-being.

What This Means for You as a Christian Client

When you come here:
  • You are understood, not judged
  • Your values are respected, not challenged
  • Your identity and calling are honored
  • You won’t be taught new theology — you will be strengthened emotionally and psychologically

This is a safe place for Christians to heal — without theological debate.

Many Christian women carry a tremendous emotional load. Our women’s mental health therapy offers support that honors your faith and your humanity.

Frequently Asked Questions About Christian-Friendly Therapy

Do you do “Christian counseling”?
Not in the sense of teaching, preaching, or using Scripture as the treatment method. Therapy here is clinical counseling delivered by a licensed therapist — while honoring your Christian beliefs and worldview.

Will you talk about the Bible with me?
Only if you want to. Scripture may be meaningful and grounding for you, and you are welcome to bring it into conversation. But this is not a Bible study or sermon space; it is a therapy room focused on your emotional and psychological well-being.

Will therapy try to change my faith or challenge my beliefs?
No. Your faith will be respected, not debated. You will never be pressured to change your values, theology, or convictions.

Does seeking therapy mean I’m not trusting God enough?
We don’t believe that. The Bible encourages believers to seek wise counsel, support, and comfort. Many Christians find therapy to be a helpful part of God’s healing work in their lives.

Do non-Christians come to your practice too?
Absolutely. Everyone is welcome and cared for with respect, dignity, and professionalism. This page simply lets Christians know they will not be misunderstood or marginalized here.

Is telehealth available for Christian clients?

Yes. Secure online therapy is available throughout California.

MISSION: To provide a tranquil and healing space in which people in our community can find calmness internally through the relaxing atmosphere, along with respectful and engaging therapy conversations.  To contribute to happier and more secure families by helping individuals, couples, and teens heal within and thereby creating different ways of engaging with themselves, the world, and those they love.

VISION: Creating a new kind of therapy experience in the Chico and Redding areas in which therapists have smaller caseloads, giving them the flexibility to spend more time with clients as needed - longer sessions, phone calls, client-centered advocacy.  Creating a space in our community where clients can go between sessions to sit, linger, and re-center themselves when they're having difficult days.  A place to belong while they heal their hearts and relationships.  A therapy office that embodies the unconditional love of Christ, no matter what a person's gender identity, romantic disposition, or previous life hardships, experiences, or actions might have been.  To be a safe place.
