What is EMDR therapy?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based approach that helps the brain heal from trauma and distressing memories.
It supports the natural processing of painful experiences so they no longer feel as intense or disruptive in daily life.

What does therapy look like at Inspired Life Counseling?
Each session is tailored to you. We begin by exploring what brought you here and what you hope to change.
Together, we’ll build coping tools, process pain safely, and help you reconnect with your inner strength and sense of peace.

What is complex PTSD, or “death by a thousand cuts”?
Complex PTSD often develops from prolonged or repeated trauma, especially in childhood or difficult relationships.

🧠 The Therapy Experience
What can I expect in my first session?
Your first session is all about you — what brings you here, your story, and your goals.
We’ll take time to understand your needs and create a plan together. There’s no pressure to share everything at once — we move at your pace.

How long does therapy take?
There’s no one-size-fits-all timeline. Some clients work through specific goals over a few months, while others continue longer for deeper healing and growth.
We’ll check in regularly to ensure therapy continues to feel supportive and aligned with your goals.

What if I’ve never been to therapy before?
That’s completely okay — many of our clients are new to therapy.
Your therapist will guide you step by step, answer questions, and create a space where you feel safe, respected, and seen.

Many employer‑sponsored health plans have high deductibles, which means clients often pay out‑of‑pocket even when seeing an in‑network provider.
With courtesy billing at Inspired Life Counseling:
For clients with high‑deductible plans, courtesy billing often provides greater provider choice, better continuity of care, and comparable out‑of‑pocket costs to in‑network therapy. You can learn more about how we navigate courtesy billing by clicking here.

MISSION: To provide a tranquil and healing space in which people in our community can find calmness internally through the relaxing atmosphere, along with respectful and engaging therapy conversations. To contribute to happier and more secure families by helping individuals, couples, and teens heal within and thereby creating different ways of engaging with themselves, the world, and those they love.
VISION: Creating a new kind of therapy experience in the Chico and Redding areas in which therapists have smaller caseloads, giving them the flexibility to spend more time with clients as needed - longer sessions, phone calls, client-centered advocacy. Creating a space in our community where clients can go between sessions to sit, linger, and re-center themselves when they're having difficult days. A place to belong while they heal their hearts and relationships. A therapy office that embodies the unconditional love of Christ, no matter what a person's gender identity, romantic disposition, or previous life hardships, experiences, or actions might have been. To be a safe place.
