Rebecca Brown, ASW
Associate Clinical Social Worker
Rebecca is a gifted therapist we are honored to have on the Inspired Life team. She balances the ability to be personable and relatable during her conversations in sessions with her keen mind and sharp ability to connect a person’s current emotional triggers to events that might have unfolded in their past. This helps Rebecca gear her sessions toward giving her clients new insights and new skills to unlearn behaviors and ways of thinking they may have learned in the past and move forward into a more successful and hopeful future with new attitudes, beliefs, and perspectives. Her clients gain tangible life skills using some of the concepts from CBT, DBT, and other therapeutic styles. Here’s a little in Rebecca’s own words:
“My therapy style is rooted in a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I believe in the power of CBT to help clients recognize and reframe negative thought patterns that influence their emotions and behaviors. By addressing these cognitive distortions, I guide clients toward developing healthier coping mechanisms and making positive changes in their lives.
I also integrate Solution-Focused Therapy, which emphasizes clients’ strengths and future goals, encouraging them to envision and work towards their preferred outcomes. Additionally, I use DBT techniques to help clients develop mindfulness, emotional regulation, and distress tolerance skills, which are particularly effective for individuals struggling with intense emotions or impulsive behaviors. My approach is collaborative and tailored to each client’s unique needs, empowering them to achieve meaningful and lasting progress.
I bring empathy into my therapy space, drawing on my extensive experience in case management where I’ve frequently utilized Choice Theory to guide my practice. My life experiences allow me to create a non-judgmental atmosphere that offers clients diverse perspectives and understanding. My goal in therapy is to ensure that each client leaves this safe space feeling understood and further along their healing journey.”
