Redding Therapy FAQ - In-Person Counseling & Telehealth in California

Choosing a therapist is a meaningful step, and it’s completely normal to have questions. This FAQ is designed to give you clarity, comfort, and practical information about starting therapy in our Redding office or through telehealth anywhere in California. If you don’t see your question here, we’re always happy to talk it through with you personally.

Redding Therapy Team
Do you offer both in-person and telehealth sessions in Redding?
Yes. Our Redding therapists provide in-person counseling at our Redding office as well as secure, HIPAA-compliant online therapy for clients anywhere in California. Many clients choose telehealth because of travel distance, living in nearby mountain communities, busy schedules, or simply convenience — and others prefer the grounding feel of coming into the office. Either way, you have options.
What types of therapy or specializations are offered at your Redding office?
Our Redding team has deep training and heart-centered experience. Every clinician in our Redding office is EMDR trained, and together our team supports:
  • Trauma healing and PTSD
  • Teens and young adults
  • Grief and loss
  • ADHD (including adult women navigating late diagnosis or symptoms)
  • Faith-sensitive counseling
  • Anxiety, depression, and life transitions
If you’re not sure who might be the best fit, tell us a little about your needs and we’ll help guide you.
Is there a Russian-speaking therapist available?
Yes. One of our Redding therapists speaks Russian and is able to support Russian-speaking clients. If this is important to you or a family member, please let us know when you reach out so we can help connect you with the right clinician.
Do you work with teens, couples, and individuals in Redding?
Yes. Our Redding therapists work with:
  • Individual adults
  • Teens and their parents
  • Some clinicians also support couples and relational work
If you’re unsure whether your situation “fits,” please ask — chances are we’ve helped many others in similar circumstances.
Do you offer evening or flexible scheduling?
Some of our Redding therapists offer later-day appointments or telehealth times that can work around work, school, parenting, and commuting. Availability varies by therapist, so when you reach out, just share what you’re hoping for and we’ll do our best to accommodate.
What if I live outside of Redding or can’t always drive into town?
You still absolutely have care options. Many Redding-area clients choose telehealth, especially those in nearby mountain, rural, or outlying communities, or when winter weather or travel becomes difficult. As long as you’re physically in California during the session, we can see you online.
Do you take insurance at the Redding office?
We are happy to discuss your insurance benefits, Partnership/Anthem Medi-Cal if applicable, Tricare if appropriate, and options for courtesy billing. If you’re unsure what your plan covers, we can help walk you through it.  Our Client Care Coordinators are available during business hours at (530) 809-1702.   They can contact your insurance company and get your specific policy's benefit information, and let you know what is covered as it relates to our therapy services.  It's usually a five-minute phone call to give them your insurance information; they will call your insurance and then call you back.  No long calls are necessary, just short and informative ones!
How soon can I usually get scheduled in Redding?
This depends on the therapist and the time of year, but we always try to get you in as soon as we can. Let us know whether you prefer in-person or telehealth, plus a few time windows that work for you, and we’ll look for the earliest good match.
Is therapy confidential?
Yes, therapy is confidential except in rare safety-related situations, which your therapist will review with you at the beginning of treatment. If you have privacy concerns, we’re always happy to talk openly about them.
How do I get started with a Redding therapist?
You can call or text your main Inspired Life number or email your team (same process as Chico). Share briefly what you’re hoping to work on, any preferences you have, and what your schedule is like. From there, we’ll help you connect with a therapist who feels like a thoughtful, caring fit.

MISSION: To provide a tranquil and healing space in which people in our community can find calmness internally through the relaxing atmosphere, along with respectful and engaging therapy conversations.  To contribute to happier and more secure families by helping individuals, couples, and teens heal within and thereby creating different ways of engaging with themselves, the world, and those they love.

VISION: Creating a new kind of therapy experience in the Chico and Redding areas in which therapists have smaller caseloads, giving them the flexibility to spend more time with clients as needed - longer sessions, phone calls, client-centered advocacy.  Creating a space in our community where clients can go between sessions to sit, linger, and re-center themselves when they're having difficult days.  A place to belong while they heal their hearts and relationships.  A therapy office that embodies the unconditional love of Christ, no matter what a person's gender identity, romantic disposition, or previous life hardships, experiences, or actions might have been.  To be a safe place.
